Understanding Vintage

WHAT IS VINTAGE?

Technically, anything 20 years and older can be considered vintage.

CONDITION

It is important to note that most vintage pieces have been previously worn and loved. At EVELLON Vintage we thoroughly inspect every piece we carry before adding it to our shop. Please remember that Vintage fashion and accessories are not new items and they can show normal signs of age and wear. We inspect all our garments meticulously and will always note any signs of wear in the description. Please be advised, that even with the closest inspection, we may miss a minor flaw such as a loose thread, very faint stains or tiny holes. When an item is listed with no flaws you can assume that it is in excellent Vintage condition. All our items come hand washed or dry cleaned and we professionally repair any imperfections when possible.  Occasionally, we carry “Deadstock” pieces. These are items that have the original tags attached, have never been worn before and are flawless.

KNOW YOUR MEASUREMENTS

Vintage sizing is often very different from today's sizing. The first thing you should do before buying a vintage item is take note of your measurements. Please visit our size guide for tips on measuring. In case you need more information on sizing, please contact us at any time. We are here for you!

THERE’S ALWAYS THE SEAMSTRESS

If you fall in love with a piece that is too big for you, consider having it tailored to fit. It’s easier than you may think to have a piece altered, and usually not prohibitively expensive.

IF YOU LOVE IT, GET IT!

Please remember, this is a vintage item, therefore we only have one of each item to sell. Most vintage pieces are rare finds that you wont come across again and once something is sold, chances are it’s gone for good.

Simply put: If you love it, buy it.
